Research Assistance
The archives staff welcome researchers to the archives who have an interest in any facet of Berry's history. Use of the materials held in archives is available to any person, regardless of institutional affiliation. However, due to the unique and often fragile nature of the materials in the collections, visitors are asked to follow the guidelines for collection use.
Processed materials will be made available to researchers. Rules governing the use of these materials are posted at the archives information desk. Rules must be read before the patron signs the patron registration form.
The following rules shall apply to the use of archival materials:
1. Researchers must leave all personal belongings, such as purses, backpacks, brief cases, and coats, at the reception area before entering the research room. The archives department may inspect all research material and personal articles before the researcher leaves the department.
2. Each researcher will register at the reception desk once per visit or group of visits (i.e. several days working on same research topic). Photo identification will be required to register.
3. Materials must be used only in the research room.
4. Use of ink pens in the research room is prohibited.
5. Please handle all materials with care. Researchers may not mark, erase, fold or otherwise mishandle any documents.

Permission to duplicate may be denied because of donor restrictions or possible damage to the materials. PERMISSION TO REPRODUCE DOES NOT CONSTITUTE PERMISSION TO PUBLISH .
