Theatre Firsthand

Student Involvement

The Theatre program at Berry is centered on the experiences of the student. Students participate in every level of production including direction, design, stage management, acting, dressers, set crew, and many other positions vital to the smooth running of a show. Students participate in the American College Theatre Festival and the Southeastern Theatre Conference, and also may receive credit for participation in BCTC productions, whether onstage or backstage.

Student Work

In addition to scholarship awards, the department participates in the Berry College Work Experience Program, employing about 40 students in various areas. Berry College’s  Work Experience Program is like no other in the country. All students, regardless of family income, are guaranteed on-campus jobs every semester. Most students choose to take advantage of this unique opportunity; more than 95 percent of our students work at some time during their four years with more than 85 percent working during any given year.

Although these positions are open to all students, preference is given to Theatre majors and minors. Students can choose from many different positions in the theatre (including, but not limited to):
