Academic Support Center

Welcome to the Academic Support Center (ASC) homepage. The ASC provides learning support for all Berry students.

The Academic Support Center provides tutorial services free of charge for any student who needs help. Peer tutors are recommended by a professor(s) in the discipline(s) they tutor and provide coaching in the various disciplines. At the student’s request, tutorial assistance will be provided. It is the student’s responsibility to contact a tutor from the tutor list provided and set up a tutoring session. Tutoring sessions can be held any place and time [or day of the week] that is mutually agreeable to the tutor and the client.

One-on-one counseling in study skills and time management is also available in the ASC. Pamphlets and brochures on study skills, writing, and time management are also available in the center free of charge.

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Resolution 504, Berry College accommodates students with documented disabilities. It is the ASC that provides services for students needing accommodations for learning, psychological, and permanent or temporary medical disabilities.

Accommodations are made on a case-by-case basis and students are not entitled to accommodations until they self-identify as having a disability. Accommodations are provided at no cost to the student and are based upon each individual’s unique needs. Accommodations are NOT retroactive, and the student must request accommodations each semester.

The center is located in the Memorial Library on the first floor and is open eight to five Monday through Friday. If you have any questions about anything, drop by the office, and if we don’t know the answer, we will find the answer for you or refer you to the office that can help you. If you just need to talk to someone, we’re always happy to listen.
