Requirements

M.B.A. students need to have at least 15 hours of  proficiency course work in business covering at least one  course in each of the following areas before they complete the M.B.A. required courses:

  • Financial reporting, analysis and markets
  • Domestic and global economic environments of organizations
  • Human behavior in organizations

These requirements may be met by receiving a grade of B or higher in at least one 3-credit undergraduate or graduate undergraduate or graduate course in economics, and accounting, and finance, and management or organizational behavior. This requirement may not be met by taking M.B.A. required courses but some proficiency course work may be taken simultaneously with M.B.A. required courses.

Additional proficiency requirements for the M.B.A. program include employment experience, as well as computer literacy and knowledge of basic statistics as demonstrated by course work or experience.

New courses are proposed as the business environment changes.  The program is willing to consider offering other special electives for employers with a special interest. The program is currently exploring additional ways to bring international experience to M.B.A. students.
