The Berry College Center for Economic Education (BCCEE) is located on the Berry campus in Room 256 of the Cook Building, a state-of-the art facility with multimedia classrooms, comfortable meeting and common areas, and a computer lab.

Affiliated with the College's Charter School of Education and Human Sciences and the Georgia Council on Economic Education (GCEE), the center makes available a vast array of information and resources. Berry's Center for Economic Education provides instructional materials, professional development and technical assistance to area teachers. Check out the brochure link for more information about our services.

News From the Center

On June 10-13, The Math Behind Economics, hosted by Berry College Charter School of Education and Human Science and the Georgia Council for Economic Education, was offered as the 2008 Berry College Residential Summer Institute for AP and IB Economics Teachers.  This advanced program offered teachers a more in-depth understanding of mathematics through a discussion of instructional strategies and provided opportunities for connecting math to economics.

On March 5th the Center, in conjunction with GCEE, hosted a luncheon for curriculum directors in northwest Georgia to discuss the needs of the economics and social studies teachers in their school districts related to implementing the Georgia Performance Standards. The purpose of the luncheon was to enable the Center to develop a better understanding of the wants and needs of NW GA area economics educators. Dr. Glen Blankenship, Program Director for the Council, provided an update on the workshps, institutes, and new materials for K-12 economics teachers in our service area. Download the list of available Economic Education workshops and let us know which you would like to have offered through the Berry Center.
