Particpant Details
Entries accepted for original, complete, runway-ready outfits made from 75% trash or recycled materials. Does not include reworked clothing.
Individuals, clubs or organizations may submit outfit. Must provide own model.
Final entry form and photo of outfit being worn are due no later than Tuesday, November 16th – there is no entry fee for designers or models. Participants who submit an (incomplete) early entry form will be contacted by phone by the PGB team to get complete entry details during the week of the fashion show.
Adults and students throughout Rome and Floyd County are invited to design and submit entries. Outfits should be appropriate for a family-friendly evening.
Awards will be issued in the following categories:
- Casual/Sportswear
- Evening Wear
- Avant Garde
- All Menswear (Casual/Sportswear, Evening Wear or Avant Garde)
- Costume
Judges’ choice awards will also be distributed among the age groups as follows:
- 100% use of reused material (minus hidden thread, glue, tape)
- Materials Matter – unique use of materials and integrity of sourcing for a true trash to treasure creation
- Design Innovation – most original style
- Quality Craftsmanship – how well the pieces are constructed
- Completeness of Outfit – best use of accessories in overall look
- Model Presentation – best wow factor by runway model
Minor participants, whether designers or models, must have a parent or guardian sign a release form at 5:00 pm check-in. All designers under age 12 will receive a participation award.
Timeline for the evening:
4:45 pm Arrive and check in
4:45 - 5:45 pm Get dressed, ready and lined up backstage
5:45 - 6:15 pm Dress rehearsal and judging
6:30 - 8:00 pm Runway show and awards
