Student life

BCEMS offers an array of activities for kids of all ages, both during and after school. The following is a brief summary of some of our most popular activities:
- Athletics: BCEMS fields several athletic teams each year. Student athletics participation on the middle school level is well over 80%! Our most popular team sports are Cross Country, Track, Golf, Tennis, and Basketball.
- Assemblies & Chapel: Students meet once per week each Friday morning to participate in our Junior Viking Assembly. Our middle school students also lead a character education assembly program in Frost Chapel one Friday per month.
- Dance Classes: Offered as an after-school program in our multi-purpose room on the mountain campus.
- Kids’ College: Kids’ College is BCEMS’s after-school program. On a weekly basis, students at Kids’ College get to swim, use the computer lab, play in Berry College’s game room, get homework assistance, & have fun!
- H3O: H3O is our service organization for middle schoolers. H3O projects are planned by students to serve the community and care for those in need.
- Events: BCEMS events occur all year long. Some of our annual events are the Great Berry Pumpkin Race, Freaky Friday, Middle School Play, Mountain Day Olympics, Mountain Day at the House of Dreams, Spring Program, Thanksgiving Family Feast, and Young Authors’ Day.
- Scouting: We are the host site for our very own Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops.
- Manners Classes: Yes, we even have that too! Hosted & taught by instructor Lucia Johnson during after-school hours.
