Anyone who has the opportunity to work with or lead groups in the outdoors will benefit from this course. The class will study the specific logistical and risk management issues revolving around outdoor program leadership using the best practices in the field today. This course will introduce students to effective leadership practices in a variety of adventure-based activities around water, vertical, land based, and underground sports. A basic level of skills, knowledge, and equipment are required. This is a full semester, 3.0 hour upper level class that requires time outside of class on week days and weekend. An additional fee is required.
