Charter School of Education and Human Sciences

Office of Field Experiences and Student Teaching

Located in the Cook Building, Room 221

The Office of Field Experiences and Student Teaching (OFEST) in the Charter School of Education and Human Sciences at Berry College is charged with overseeing all aspects of the field experiences program as well as tracking all education majors and minors through the Teacher Education Program, from admission to certification. The OFEST coordinates multiple assessments of the Teacher Education Program and encourages students to offer feedback. All field experience placements (practica, student teaching, and internships) are made by the director of field experiences and student teaching, in consultation with the building principals and representatives from local school districts. The director serves as liaison between Berry College and surrounding schools. The OFEST tracks field experience placements to insure that students work at different grade levels and in a variety of settings (rural and urban) to enhance the quality and breadth of experiences.
