Dr. Susan Logsdon-Conradsen joined Berry College in 1998. As a licensed clinical psychologist she has clinical experience with children, families, couples, and individuals with a wide range of presenting problems. She also has specialized training in eating disorders, health psychology, and women’s issues. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia, and her Master's Degree and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Louisville. She completed her residency at the Medical College of Georgia, and a postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in the Infectious Disease Program working with AIDS patients. Before coming to Berry College, Dr. Conradsen taught doctoral students at the Georgia School of Professional Psychology, and undergraduates at the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky.
Currently Dr. Conradsen is the Interim Director of the Women’s Studies program as well as an associate professor in the psychology department. Her courses at Berry College include Abnormal Psychology, Advanced Abnormal Psychology, Psychology of Women, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Women’s Studies, Orientation to Psychology, Health Psychology, and Women’s Studies Seminar. She also supervises research practicum students, directed studies, and women’s studies internships. Dr. Conradsen is involved in various college organizations including the advisor to the student group EMPOWER, president of the Berry College chapter of the national honor society Phi Kappa Phi, and co-advisor to Psi Chi national honor society.
Dr. Conradsen has conducted research in various areas and has presented at conferences and published articles in a variety of journals (please see CV for further details). Currently her research is focusing on childbirth attitudes and practices in the US. She is also supervising a George Scholar, Ashley McAlister, on a research project on the media and body image.
Dr. Conradsen lives in Roswell, GA with her husband Damond and their two children, Annalise (5) and Daken (1). She loves playing with her children, hanging out with her friends, hiking, yoga, drawing, painting, listening to alternative and indie music, gardening, and reading cool books. She is involved in a variety of environmental organizations and women’s studies groups and is passionate about dispelling the negative myths about feminism and telling everyone what this social justice movement is really about.
