Georgia Association of Educators--the Student Program
The Berry College Georgia Association of Educators--the Student Program (GAE-SP) is a pre-professional organization of students who plan to become teachers. It is not just another student club but is sponsored by the Georgia Association of Educators and the National Education Association who work to prepare education majors and minors for a brighter professional future. GAE-SP is designed to provide college students with the opportunity to join practicing teachers in making their voices heard locally, statewide, and nationally through activities that affect their chosen profession--teaching.
GAE-SP works to help students make that smooth transition from the campus to the classroom by exploring the critical non-instructional aspects of the profession. Georgia Association of Educators--the Student Program works with its members to make sure they learn about salaries, competency testing, evaluations, discipline, certification requirements, stress, and political and legislative activities.
Georgia Association of Educators--the Student Program members and their colleagues across the nation already are professionals--demonstrating their commitment to action and making an investment toward a bright, professional future and career.
Students interested in teaching are invited to attend a meeting of the Berry College chapter of GAE-SP the second Monday of each month at 6:00 in Cook Hall.
