English, Rhetoric, and Writing
Secondary Education Concentration
Students who want to teach English in grades 7-12 combine an English major with a Secondary Education minor. They will graduate from Berry ready to become certified teachers with a special endorsement in teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, with a strong background in both English studies and teacher preparation courses. The concentration includes courses in linguistics, Shakespeare, adolescent literature, and writing, with further electives in literature or language.
