Josephine Humphreys

Josephine HumphreysJosephine Humphreys is a native and resident of Charleston, SC.,and a graduate of Duke University, where she studied writing with Reynolds Price. Her novels include DREAMS OF SLEEP, winner of the Ernest Hemingway Award for Best First Novel of 1984; RICH IN LOVE, made into a major motion picture starring Albert Finney and Jill Clayburgh, THE FIREMAN'S FAIR, a New York Times Notable Book of the Year; and NOWHERE ELSE ON EARTH, winner of the Southern Book Award in Fiction. She has won a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Literature Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
