Eclipsed
By Patricia Burke Brogan
Directed by Dr. John Countryman
E. H. Young Theatre, Berry College
Nov. 18-23
Set in Ireland circa 1963, Eclipsed is the doleful tale of unmarried mothers separated from their children and condemned to slave in convent-run laundries. the women are subjugated by a good nun/bad nun duo, but prove themselves a colorfully resistent brigade. This work of historical fiction is filled with entertaining characters and plenty of dirty laundry hung out out to dry.
How I learned to drive
By Paula Vogel
Directed by Dr. John Countryman
E. H. Young Theatre, Berry College
Feb. 17-22
This Pulitzer Prize winning play by Paula Vogel exposes many taboos in our culture that are seldom talked about. The story follows the strained, sexual relationship between Li'l Bit and her Uncle Peck from adolescence through her teenage years into college and beyond. Using the metaphor of driving and the issues of pedophilia, incest and misogyny, the play explores ideas of control and manipulation.

Artistic Direction by Jeanne Schul
Rome City Auditorium, Rome, GA
March 5-7
In this year's dance concert, join us on a journey of self-discovery through movement. Dancers will ignite the stage with different styles of dance such as tap, jazz, modern and contemporary, to illustrate with music the different reflections we see of ourselves and of others. Don't miss this oppurtunity to burn all facades and catch a glimpse of what really lies beneath the Berry College Dance Troupe.
