THE PROGRAM

The Winter's Tale, Spring 1999 Berry College's theatre program provides high-quality theatre-arts training in a broad-based liberal-arts setting. Students in the program earn a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major or minor in the theatre. They master skills in both theatre performance and production. Frequent productions allow students to apply skills they learn in class. Internship opportunities, independent study, and special seminars are offered by the faculty; and opportunities to study theatre overseas are available.

Love Letters, Spring 1999PERFORMANCES

Four faculty-directed shows and numerous student productions are staged annually. Students are involved in directing, lighting, makeup, costuming, set design and construction, and publicity. Performances are presented in the E.H. Young Theatre, which houses a fully equipped, three-quarter-thrust main stage and a studio theatre.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND WORK OPPORTUNITY

Broken Hearts, Fall 1999 The School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences offers scholarships to high-school graduates who have proven their dedication to theatre. Berry College awards approximately $20,000 in scholarships annually to students majoring or minoring in theatre. All scholarships are renewable for four years. Scholarship students participate in all mainstage shows. Auditions and interviews for scholarships and work opportunity in theatre are held at the Georgia State Thespian Convention each February, at Berry College each January and February, and at the Southeastern Theatre Conference each March.
