Education:
B.A., Wake Forest University
M.A., Ph.D., Indiana University-Bloomington 
Teaching Interest:
Dr. Stanard teaches courses on modern European history, Africa since 1800, world history, as well as a course on imperialism, colonialism, and nationalism.
Research Interest:

He has published a number of essays on colonial expositions, Belgian imperialism, and colonial culture in Europe.  He has been a Wolfsonian Fellow at the Wolfsonian-Florida International University in Miami Beach, a Belgian American Educational Foundation Fellow in Brussels, and a Chancellor’s Fellow at Indiana University-Bloomington.
