Government and International Studies

Student Spotlight

Student Spotlight - LargeWhen it was time to choose a major, Sarah Conn’s closest mentors and friends advised her to study what interested her most, and as a result she chose International Studies.  She chose this major because it uniquely incorporated her interests of government, international business, and the study of other countries and cultures.  Ms. Conn has found that the department’s knowledgeable faculty, small classes, and engaged students have led to many interesting and insightful in-class discussions.

In 2008, Conn spent the summer in Washington, DC, where she studied and completed an internship on global trade as part of the Washington Center program.  Later she spent a semester studying politics, history, and Spanish in Seville, Spain.  Currently Miss Conn is a volunteer interpreter at a free health clinic.  Ms Conn says of her experience at Berry, “The International Studies major at Berry has opened up many doors for me. Next fall, I hope to start law school, where would like to study international and/or corporate law.”
