Biography
Kirsten Taylor joined the Department of Government and International Studies in the Fall of 2002. She has a Ph.D. in Political Science from McGill University. Dr. Taylor teaches courses in International Studies, including Contemporary World Issues, International Relations, International Law and Organizations, Conflict and Cooperation in World Politics, and International Relations Theory, and she is the faculty advisor to Berry’s Model United Nations club.
Dr. Taylor’s primary research interests relate to matters of international military security. Her Ph.D. dissertation considered why military alliances endure and collapse, with a particular focus on the evolution of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. She is also interested in strategic debates in NATO and has published an article on the Missile Defense Debate in NATO (Comparative Strategy 2004).
Current Projects
Dr. Taylor’s current research is dedicated to the analysis of security institutions. She is currently developing a quantitative measure of security institutions.
