History Gender

History + Gender


Students major in History; minor in Women’s and Gender Studies, and either study abroad or complete an internship with an organization that focuses on women’s issues.  Prepares students to work in women’s and children’s services, non-profit groups involved in fundraising, philanthropy, and volunteer coordination, domestic violence advocacy, community outreach, and public affairs.

Requirements

(55-58 Hours)
  • Major in History (36 hours)
    • Must take HIS 375: US Women's History
  • Minor in Women's and Gender Studies (18 hours)
    • HIS 402: History + X (1 hour)
    • Complete study abroad or internship with organization involved in women’s or gender issues (3 hours)
    • Optional campus job in Advancement, Academic Affairs and Services, Alumni Center, or Counseling Center
