History The Public

History + the Public


Students major in History; minor in Public Relations or Art; and intern either at a museum or public history site.  Career paths include work at museums, heritage sites, archives, State and National Parks, preservation and conservation entities, and community relations.

Requirements

(64 Hours)
  • Major in History (36 Hours)
  • Minor in Art (21 hours) or Public Relations (21 hours)
    • Art 240 course: Historic Preservation (3 hours)
    • HIS 402: History + X (1 hour)
    • Complete internship at museum or public history site (3 hours)
    • Optional campus job at Oak Hill museum, Berry Archives, or Martha Berry Digital Archives
