Specialist in 19th and 20th Century German literature. B.A., English and German, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität, Erlangen, Germany; M.A., Ph.D., German Literature, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (1996). Duden Award (2003) recipient from AATG in recognition for her outstanding efforts and achievement in the teaching of German.
