Why Religion?

The study of religion prompts, among other things, a great appreciation for differing worldviews. Study in theology promotes critical reasoning skills generally, as well as in deep consideration moral and ethical systems. Students of religion are well equipped to deal with cross cultural situations due to this understanding, and are good candidates after graduation for any job where that is a desirable skill (such as social work, international relations and business).

In today's world, religion remains a dominant force, controlling business markets, igniting wars, driving scientific inquiry and, as always, fulfilling basic and deep-seated spiritual needs for the majority of the human population. Not only does a degree in religion educate an individual, it also provides a foundation for many possible career paths. Students of religion find jobs as teachers, diplomats, lawyers, artists and humanitarians.
