Chemistry Program Gains ACS Approval
Following an extensive review, the American Chemical Society Committee on Professional Training has approved the Chemistry Program at Berry College, expressing to us that our program “meets the spirit and intent of the American Chemistry Society guidelines for approved schools,” and that the name of Berry College will be added to their prestigious list of ACS-approved colleges and universities. Berry will be required to make annual reports to the Society and will undergo a re-evaluation every five years.
“Graduates who have majored in chemistry and have fulfilled the minimum requirements as adopted by the Society are eligible for admission as members to the Society following graduation.” Not all chemistry graduates are expected to meet certification; and there will be separate curriculum tracks for those who do not wish to or need to be certified.
Questions about the chemistry program at Berry College can be directed to department chair, Dr. Andrew Bressette.
