The Berry College Dairy started in 1900 and since then has continually strived to create an outstanding registered Jersey Herd. The Dairy is run by the Animal Science program at Berry College and is used to provide students with valuable learning experiences within their field of study. Today, students milk approximately 30 head and care for all the replacement heifers. As of August 2008, the Berry College Dairy milks approximately 35 head of cows averaging 1200 pounds of milk, 3.5 protein & 4.2 butter fat. Five of these cows are ranked excellent in their classifications and many of them come from the Berry Mindi & Sapphire families.
