Learning doesn't end in the classroomBressette

Engaging in research activities alongside faculty members in an enriching part of the chemistry education available at Berry College. While classes and labs teach the important concepts and experiemental techniques crucial to your success as a chemist, a true education in chemistry requires independent thought and working through the difficult problems that novel research efforts offer. All of our chemistry faculty members are active researchers. chemistry majors are able to select from research projects representing all the major areas of chemistry.

Every student involved in research contributes a paper describing their work to the Berry College Journal of Chemistry. In many cases, these papers are converted to manuscripts that are published in major national an international chemistry journals. In addition, several students each year present their research findings via poster or oral presentations at regional and national scientific conferences, such as those organized by the American Chemical Society and the Georgia Academy of Sciences. Students engaged in research may either gain academic credit or be paid through the college's student work-opportunity program. You can earn while you learn!
