Evolutionary ecology, plant reproductive ecology, plant-animal interactions, ecological biochemistry and tropical ecology. Studies of the ecological significance of toxins (glycoalkaloids) within nightshade (Solanum spp.) fruits, restoration of longleaf pine (Pinus palustris) on the Berry campus, sexual dimorphism in spicebush (Lindera benzoin), and intra-specific variation in quinolizidine alkaloids of a Hawaiian legume (Sophora chrysophylla).
