Roatan: Summer 2010 - Day 5

Day Five: Soccer, diving, and beach BBQ
The day started with a short break to watch the US soccer game in the World Cup tournament, then off for our two dives. The theme for today was to observe fish behavior, so the students spent a lot of time just sitting on the bottom watch the reef in action. At first it seemed boring, but once the dust had settled, everyone was able to see some unique fish behavior. After a quick shower, it was off to lecture. Today they learned about the interesting, but sometimes confusing mating ritual of the parrotfish and wrasses. Then it was time for the beach BBQ, limbo, and fire dance that the resort puts on. Our limbo entrants made it into the top five, but did not win the gold. In the dance contest, with the strong vocal support of the class we had two that came out with prizes. Tomorrow it is back to school and the first night dive for most of the group.
