If you’ve already made a decision, requirements are a quick click away. If you haven’t, but your interests seem to coincide with the majors we offer, you are in good company. Our majors are among the strongest at Berry College, and serious students are accepted to graduate and professional schools with ease. Whatever major you choose, decide immediately to become involved with what’s going on in the department, attend club meetings, learn about the professional interests of faculty, look for employment within the department, become a research assistant, regularly assess your aspirations and progress, and communicate with your advisor and your professors. Remember, that your major, whatever you choose, does not determine what you must do after graduation; it will, however, give you skills necessary to everyday life and the workplace and also the basis for further study in the same or other career fields. Choosing a major is a process; so don’t feel locked-in if you decide along the way that you want to go in a different direction. Who knows, you may even decide to have two majors (a double-major) or a major and a minor. There are plenty of people at Berry College who are willing to guide you through the process. Just ask!
