School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences

2012 Research Colloquium

The 20th Annual Scientific Research Colloquium was held at Berry College April 10. School of MNS student presentations were judged by our faculty, and awards were presented during a research banquet that was held the evening of April 17th. Following the banquet, Dr. Joseph Mendelson, curator of herpetology, Zoo Atlanta; adjunct professor of biology, Georgia Institute of Technology; and president of the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles, spoke to faculty and student scholars in the Science Lecture Hall. His topic, "Global Amphibian Extinctions: Lessons from the Lost" provided an overview of "where we are now" in terms of the ongoing extinctions of amphibians, and "where we should be going," with some object lessons we've learned along the way.
