By Car

Berry College is located next to Rome on U.S. 27 in northwest Georgia, 65 miles northwest of Atlanta and 65 miles south of Chattanooga.

Click here for detailed driving directions from Atlanta, Chattanooga, or Birmingham. A map of the area is shown below.

Parking

Free parking is available throughout the campus. It is suggested that conference participants park in the parking lot on the West side (the back) of the Science Building. Since all of the conference sessions will be held in the Science Building, this parking lot will be the most convenient.

Weather

While we usually experience moderate temperatures at Berry College during the month of March, weather can be unpredictable (it is, after all, a chaotic dynamical system). A 10-day forecast for Rome, Georgia is available here.

Email service

Computers connected to the campus network (and thus to the internet) will be available so that conference participants can check their email or surf the web. Printing capabilities may be limited.

Restaurants

The local organizing committee has compiled a list of suggested restaurants in Rome and a map of their locations, which you can download by clicking here (NOW AVAILABLE!). A more complete (but somewhat out of date) listing of restuarants in Rome can be found at the Rome Convention and Visitor's Bureau page. Please note that none of these restaurants are within easy walking distance of Berry College or the Holiday Inn. Lunch and dinner will be provided on campus for all conference participants. A continental breakfast is provided by the suggested hotels. If you wish to dine elsewhere you will need to provide your own transportation.

Attractions

Berry College itself is one of Rome's most scenic attractions, with its beautiful 26,000-acre campus filled with forest and wildlife. We encourage all conference participants to explore the campus while they are here. In the city of Rome you may wish to visit a number of historic sites including: the Myrtle Hill Cemetery, the Clocktower, the Capitoline Wolf Statue, or scenic Downtown Rome. More information on these and other attractions can be found on the Rome Convention and Visitor's Bureau page.
