European Council, London

Berry College students wishing to study in England over the summer have the opportunity to travel to the University College London with the European Council.

During this program you will be living in the Bloomsbury District, close to many of the world's well known museums and cultural sites. You will be minutes from Trafalgar Square, the theatre district, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and the House of Parliament.  London also has many beautiful parks and well-known sporting events, and an array of concert venues.

Program Dates
June 27 - July 31, 2013

Location
University College London

Courses
Many classes of different varieties are offered through this program. Each class is an equivalent of 3 credit hours at Berry College, and students are required to enroll in two 3-hour classes. Classes will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays. Required fieldtrips take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During the first weekend you are taken on a scavenger hunt to familiarize yourself with London. After the first weekend you are free to explore London as well as other parts of Britain and Europe on your own. Each credit is considered a Berry College Credit, not transient credit.

Accommodations
Students are provided with a private room. Linens and a towel are included with the room. Community bathrooms are on each hall. There is also a security guard on duty whenever the building is open.

Meals
Program Package includes most meals. Lunch is provided to students on class days. You are also given a prepaid grocery card for extra food and snacks you might want. Each floor also has a communal kitchen.

Costs
$4950; this includes round trip airfare, lodging, an excursion to Windsor the first weekend of your stay, a health insurance policy, as well as an unlimited travel pass for London's Underground and bus systems. There is a $100 per credit hour charge in addition to the program fee.  Students pay the $4950 directly to the EC; Berry College will bill the student the $100 per credit hour fee.
