Culture is a combination of the past, present and future of a place that encompasses its ideas, passions, faults, pride and beauty. Experiencing culture engages all of your senses, your mind and your heart. It’s something nearly indescribable in its complexity, yet it is so simple, because it’s just made up of people. This is a perfect example of the culture in the Dominican Republic I have come to love with all of my heart. Children are the most important part of any country – it starts with children who give it continuity and vibrancy and grow up to eventually lead and shape the country. This picture is a child, eyes open wide, reaching out to touch the world, to experience and learn all that she can with the joy, exuberance and innocence only a child can possess. This is a picture of the way the D.R. began, of the way it is now, and the way it will be. This is Elizabeth, the heart of the Dominican Republic, a girl who will change the world.
