BIO 383: Tropical Biodiversity and Conservation (4 credits) Costa Rica Introduces the basic physical and ecological concepts and principles pivotal to the sustainable management of tropical ecosystems.
BIO 480: Advanced Topics in Biology: Tropical Biomedicine (2 credits) Involves an intensive 3-week field experience focusing on the ecology of infectious disease and issues of public health in developing countries. Courses must be taken together.

COM 429 Studies in British Culture (3 credits) England and Ireland 2nd 7 weeks of Spring 2009 (Berry campus), June 2-17 (travel dates); $5300, $800 deposit due Feb. 15, balance due April 15. Examine the ways in which national identities are constructed through the differing ideologies of the Anglo-Irish conflict, with multimedia reporting component. Program description. Credit may be earned in COM or ENG.

EDU 222 - Exploration in Diverse Cultures (3 credits)
An analysis of the educational context of another culture. Application of various techniques to determine the relationship among family, society, health, and schooling in a culture other than the student's own.

Students will complete a travel essay, a literary souvenir providing a unique, personal and informed understanding of Central Mexico, of the complex natures of travel and the traveler, the native and the neighbor. Credits may be earned in ENG or LCS.

This course will consist of lectures in Balinese culture and religion, and practice for music or dance or language. The students will be able to join Balinese peoples and take part of Balinese Hindu ceremonies.
