Required Application Materials

Transcript evaluation is required before admission consideration. Once evaluated, your transcript(s) will be sent directly to Berry from World Education Services (WES). Note that Berry does not offer fee waivers for transcript evaluation processes.

The following required materials for International Applicants are to be uploaded through the MyBerry portal after submission of an application.

  1. Citizenship Verification (Copy of Passport)

An uploaded screenshot of the photo page of your passport will work! If you do not have a passport, please contact the Office of Admission (admissions@berry.edu).

  2. English Proficiency Score Report

One of the following English Proficiency Score Report options are acceptable to upload to your MyBerry portal:
    • IELTS — Minimum Preferred Score: 7.0
    • Duolingo — Minimum Preferred Score: 115
    • TOEFL — Minimum Preferred Score: 90
    • English Proficiency Waiver – Waiver completed by school official indicating you’ve attended an English-Speaking school, and do not need to take an English Proficiency Exam.

Note that Berry does not offer fee waivers for English Proficiency Exams.

  3. Certification of Finances* (see Financial Aid section below)

The Certification of Finances must be completed accurately and in its entirety. The lack of proper completion of this document will result in the admission item not being fulfilled and therefore the application not being reviewed by our admissions team.

All submitted documents are approved and processed by members of our team. It is possible items may not be accepted to fulfill the admission requirement for various reasons, so it is your responsibility to check the MyBerry portal to make sure no items are outstanding. Your application will not be formally reviewed until all of the admission requirements have been met.

Optional Application Materials

The following items are not required (but are more than welcome):

  • SAT and/or ACT results (we will accept a PDF of your score report)
    • Berry SAT Code: 5059
    • Berry ACT Code: 0798
  • Counselor/Teacher Recommendation (available within the application)
  • "Why Berry” essay
  • Resume (recommended length: 1 or 2 pages)

Standardized Testing is Optional

Our holistic review process focuses on your admission application, your academic performance as indicated by your school transcripts, your extra-curricular engagement and a personal essay. These four factors will continue to matter most while helping us fulfill our historical mission to provide access to a world-class education for students from all backgrounds.

If you have taken the ACT or SAT, we still encourage you to submit your scores to Berry. Submitted test scores (or a lack of test scores) will not negatively impact your admission and will not be used in awarding merit-based scholarships.

Financial Aid

Berry College offers a competitive merit-based scholarship program for international students. These scholarships are based on a student’s secondary school transcripts and are awarded automatically to students that qualify. While these scholarships can be generous, it is important to remember that there are no need-based scholarships that are available to international students.

*International applicants must show that they can provide for themselves financially while attending Berry. This information should be indicated on the applicant’s Certification of Finances.
