Annual Fund and Alumni Participation
Giving to the Annual Fund was up 9.4 percent in 2009-10, coming in at $2.12 million. More than 26 percent of alumni solicited participated in giving.
Because it provides support for student scholarships and the Work Experience Program, the Annual Fund is critical to helping meet current student needs. And because the level of alumni participation in giving is viewed by outside organizations as a signal of belief in the Berry mission, it factors into many important results – from corporate and foundation giving to Berry's ranking on a variety of much-watched lists. Consistent, yearly giving to the Annual Fund by alumni provides immeasurable rewards for today's students.
"I wouldn't be here [at Berry] if it weren't for Annual Fund donors. It means so much to me that people believe in the Berry mission and want to help students like me become a success. The fact that they are willing to give part of what they have worked so hard for to help us achieve our dreams is overwhelming. It motivates me to do my best."
