FAFSA Helpful Hints and Tips
- To prevent a delay in processing your financial aid, please use actual (not estimated) tax return information. You can complete your tax return (without filing with the IRS) and use that information to complete the FAFSA. You can file your taxes with the IRS any time you choose.
- If you are prompted to pay to file your FAFSA, you are at the wrong site. There is no charge for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
- If you feel your financial situation is not accurately reflected because of major life changes such as illness, death, marriage, divorce or job loss, a special circumstance request can be filed with the Berry College financial aid office. Additional documentation may be required.
- The Department of Education selects several federal aid applicants for "verification." Berry College will be required to verify the information you provided to federal processors on your FAFSA. Additional documentation may be required. If you are selected for verification, please submit requested information in a timely manner so that we can process your financial aid.
