2007 Entrepreneurial Spirit Award Winner

Roy N. Miller (58C)

Mr. Miller is founder, owner, president and CEO of Southern Used Packaging and Bottling Machinery, the seeds for which were planted in 1968 when he started working nights and weekends buying and selling used packaging and bottling machinery out of a small garage in Cartersville, Ga. He found success by promising lower costs and quicker delivery than his competitors, and as a result his sole proprietorship grew beyond its roots and developed into the corporation that exists today.

The 1958 Berry alumnus has received a number of entrepreneurial and community awards. He is a two-time finalist for the Gwinnett County Small Business Person of the Year Award and a 1997 graduate of Leadership in Gwinnett County.

Recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation, Mr. Miller served as president of the Duluth Rotary Club in 2004-2005. He also has served on the Business Intelligence Committee of the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute and the Atlanta Regional Commission Work Force Investment Board.
