A 1967 Berry alumna, Gayle taught in Polk, Cobb and Paulding counties before retiring in 2000 and moving to Florida. She was president of “Busy Hands, Happy Hearts,” an organization that reaches out to nursing centers and children’s hospitals by making specialty items for use in neo-natal and pediatric units. She teaches line dancing for a community wide dance class that also serves as a support group. In 2003, Gayle started the “Busy Bees,” a group that has donated items to area nursing homes, assisted living centers, schools, abused women and U.S. soldiers in Iraq.
