Achievements: Carolyn Thompson Smith (53C, FFS), winner of the Distinguished Service Award, has made her mark on her alma mater as well as many community service organizations. For 21 years, she served as director of alumni affairs at Berry; she also has 12 years of service as a development officer. Holding a Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary, Carolyn is an ordained elder of the Presbyterian Church and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dalton. She actively served the Rome community through such organizations as the Chamber of WINTER 2004 3 Commerce, Kiwanis Club, United Way, Music Lovers Club, Symphony Orchestra, Women’s Association, Heritage Society and Council for the Arts.
