Chapter Minutes - Carpet Capital Chapter

New and outgoing officers met for the planning meeting. Planning forms were provided by Doris and Harlan Chapman. Celeste Crewell, vice president, will b e program chairman.
Tentative plans are:
Summer meeting, August 9, 2008 at the conference room at Walnut Square Mall at 6pm. This will be a potluck dinner, with the chapter providing the BBQ, buns and slaw. Officers will see that the other essentials are provided. Jesse Jones and Tim Howard will work with the scholarship winners to request the attendance of the winners and their parents. A collection will be taken for the Clay Kenemer Scholarship Fund. 2007 scholarship recipients will be invited to come and share their experience at Berry with the group. Plans are being made to try and provide a nursery for small children of Berry Alumni attending. Doris and Harlan volunteered to staff the nursery at the fall meeting.
Fall meeting October 16,2008 at Kelly’s Restaurant at 6pm. The Berry Quartet will be invited to perform at the session. The service project will be donations of money or food to the Salvation Army, on Make a Difference Day. This is continuing what the group has done for several years If the nursery deal works, it will be continued for the spring meeting scheduled for March 5, 2009 at Kelly’s Restaurant at 6pm. The service committee will decide on the project for that session.
Carolyn Smith will check on using the Presbyterian facility for one of the meetings
