Record Setters
The Berry College Swim Team
continues to perform well as the season wraps up with the Appalachian Swimming
Conference Championship this weekend.
Mariah Moon, a sophomore from
Kingman, Ariz., credits the team’s perseverance for their continued success. Swimmers have blasted through team and pool records
this season.
“This year was another
fantastic season for the Vikings swim team,” Moon said. “With hard work,
dedication, and self-discipline, we all managed to push ourselves through each
early morning practice and long afternoon practice throughout our long season.”
The team has seen a great
deal of changes from last season, including the addition of assistant coach
Jennifer Dahm and an influx of new talent. Though the team is young, it is
proving to be a force to be reckoned with, recently defeating King, LaGrange,
and Hendrix colleges.
Moon is excited about the
future of the team.
“For next season, I really
look forward to getting even more swimmers with a wide spread of talent so that
we can become an even stronger team all-around,” she said.
