A Fashionable Weekend
Whether giving back to the community or cutting a rug on the dance
floor, Berry students know how to do things in style.
On
a recent Friday night Berry’s Hunger Homelessness Outreach Program and
Education and the Berry International Club hosted the “Out of this World”
Fashion Show to raise money for SOW Inc., a
local homeless shelter. The show included fashions from Belk, CC’s of Rome, Blush
Boutique, DressU Boutique and Posh Boutique.
“I
really enjoyed it! I loved the international clothes they were very beautiful,
especially the colors. I liked the variations of clothing…like the formal wear
and the life-after-Berry wear,” said senior Rachel Imes.
On
Saturday students danced the night away in their fanciest attire at Spring
Formal: A Southern Affair. The formal dance, at the Oak Hill and Martha Berry
Museum, was hosted by Krannert Center Activities Board (KCAB) and the junior
class. Students enjoyed desserts, a s’mores bar, and lemonade and took pictures
inside a photo booth with their friends and dates.
“I
think KCAB did a great job planning formal this year, “said junior Naing Oo, “I
really liked the location this year and spending time with my friends.”
The
formal and fashion show fundraiser are both annual events held during the
spring semester.
