(September 2012) Berry College recently hosted the final Southern Women Writers Conference. The conference, which began in 1994, recognized the contributions of Southern women to American literature. In honor of the final conference, this year’s theme was “Beginnings and Endings,” in which speakers and presenters explored the concepts of literal and metaphorical “beginnings” and “endings.”

(September 2012) The freshmen class has already begun their education of the head, heart and hands. After the second week of classes, more than 700 Berry College students, faculty and staff set out on a recent Saturday morning for the college's annual First-Year Service Day.

The performance included works by Gardel, Piazzolla, Ginastera, and Matos-Rodriguez, and featured guest conductor José Cladera, of Buenos Aires, Argentina and Associate Professor of Music Glenn Garrido.
