Athletic Training
The athletic training staff at Berry College consists of Ginger Swann, Head Athletic Trainer, and Sam Liddy, Assistant Athletic Trainer. The mission of the athletic training department is to provide the highest level of sports medicine care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation services to the student-athletes at Berry College.
Swann is the primary full time athletic trainer at Berry. She also oversees two graduate assistant athletic trainers and a staff of over 20 student athletic trainer assistants. Combined with a team of physicians, Berry works to provide the most effective sports medicine care possible. The athletic training staff is fortunate to have a network of physicians in a variety of specialists in the greater Rome area. Orthopedic and sports medicine specialists make weekly visits to the Berry training room. The staff also receives support from Advance Rehabilitation in Rome, who provides any needed rehabilitative services. All of this vital support allows the athletic training staff to provide excellent and timely health care for all of Berry’s student-athletes.
The athletic training facility is located in The Steven J. Cage Athletic and Recreation Center and serves all 17 men’s and women’s athletic teams. The training room houses the staff offices, a hydrotherapy room, treatment areas, taping tables, and room for rehabilitation exercises.
