Classroom Success

Berry College student-athletes realize that when it comes to a total college experience, education takes precedence.  That point is proven over and over again throughout the academic year.

graduate     Berry student-athletes are also well-recognized on a national scale.  During the 2003-04 academic year alone, they earned 21 NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete awards.  In addition, the men’s cross country, men’s tennis and women’s tennis teams were all recognized by the NAIA as Scholar-Teams.  To earn Scholar-Team distinction, teams must compete in the NAIA national tournament or meet and its student-athletes participating in the competition must own a minimum combined 3.0 grade point average.

In order for student-athletes to compensate for the hours necessary t prepare for competition, a rigorous academic discipline is established to help them achieve their potential.  Teams employ study hall programs, and tutoring sessions have proven an invaluable asset to the Vikings and Lady Vikings.  Counselors also assist student-athletes wih the rigors of class schedules, registration and meeting the requirements of graduation.

Berry College is committed to each student-athlete as a total person.  While the student-athlete at Berry is given an opportunity to attain athletic goals, the objective is to assure the academic success of each Berry student-athlete.
