Job Summary - Berry College, a member of the NCAA Division III, is looking for TWO Graduate Assistant Certified Athletic Trainers to assist in providing medical coverage to its athletic teams. Responsibilities include: coverage of collegiate athletics teams as designated by the Director of Athletic Training, immediate care and assessment of injuries, rehabilitation of student-athletes as necessary, certain administrative details, and supervision of student workers in the training room. This is a 10-month position that includes an $8,000/year stipend (bi-weekly payout) and a full tuition waiver. Potential of camp/high school coverage for extra income is a possibility. We have around 40 that help with athletic training and offer great support to the certified athletic trainers. We have three full-time certified athletic trainers and two GA positions. We will be adding another full time ATC soon since we are starting football in Fall of 2013. We have two fully functioning training rooms on campus. One of our full-time positions is funded through Advance Rehab Physical Therapy so we have easily accessible means of getting athletes into physical therapy if warranted. We have a great relationship with our team doctor so getting athletes seen is usually not a problem as well. We have doctors that come to the training room as well. We offer 19 men’s and women’s sports for our student-athletes. The staff and coaches are great to work with and we rarely have any trouble with performing our jobs. We offer a Master’s of Early Childhood or Middle Grades Education, a Master’s of Art in Teaching or a Master’s of Business to our applicants. Minimum Qualifications - BS in Athletic Training or related field; NATABOC Certification or eligible by start date; GA state licensure or eligible; Admission requirements and appropriate test scores and any other material required to get into the Berry College degree program of their choice.
