Berry College seeks a new Director of our Academic Support Center who will also serve as the Coordinator of Disability Support Services. The ideal candidate will be available to start on December 1, 2013.

|Job Summary - The Director of the Academic Support Center reports to the Associate Provost & Dean of Academic Services. The director oversees the staff and budgets allocated to maintain and develop programs and support services necessary for student success, retention, and graduation from Berry College.
The Coordinator of Disability Support serves as the principal advocate for students with disabilities. The position is responsible for providing disability resources and assistance to students, faculty, and staff; coordinate support services for students with disabilities with appropriate offices; provide academic, career, and personal counseling; provide information on support services to prospective students and their families; and assist with the identification of assistive hardware and software. The Director will also coordinate academic and testing accommodations, collect, maintain, and analyze documentation of disabilities and assist with identification of and response to campus barriers to ensure compliance with the American with Disabilities Act and Section 504.
|Minimum Qualifications - Master’s degree and at least 3 years of experience working in an educational setting with young adults who experience disabilities.
Experience in and/or knowledge of vocational, psychosocial, academic and physical impact of a variety of disabilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with a commitment to working with and helping individuals in an academic environment.
|Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology or related field.
Thorough knowledge of American with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 or the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and other relevant laws pertaining to higher education and disability.
