Steven J. Cage Biography

Berry College’s new athletic and recreation facility proudly is named in honor of alumnus and trustee Steven J. Cage, whose visionary, three-pronged gift made the launch of this project possible. His generous contribution also completed funding for the college’s science center and established a prestigious scholarship for business students.

Mr. Cage, of Indianapolis, is founder and chairman of the board of Product Action International LLC, the leading provider of quality improvement services for the automotive industry. An entrepreneur, he built his business on quality and integrity, values he has said he learned at home and honed at Berry College.

His approach has been a successful one: Product Action has enjoyed exceptional growth and continues to be recognized for its high standards and groundbreaking practices. The company is a six-time winner of the prestigious Indiana Quality Improvement Award including Gold Awards in 2002 and 2004 as the top services company and a 2003 Silver Award for innovative practices in human resources. Product Action also has been recognized seven times by the BKD Indiana Excellence Awards program for its processes and achievements and earned the 2006 Silver Award in the service-industry category.

Mr. Cage aimed for that same high level of innovation and quality when he pledged his support for Berry and the Cage Center project.

“We are building a center for the students and the Berry community,” he said when ground was broken for the facility. “It’s the student-life experience that is key here.”
