Classroom Performance Systems - Syllabus

Many students may be familiar with clickers, but some students may not. We recommend that you provide a brief introduction to clickers during the first class session. Instructors can tell students why clickers are being used, what the instructors expectations are, and what students can expect to get from using them.

If you are using CPS in your course, we recommend that you put some information in your syllabus.

For example:

A classroom response system (aka clickers) will be used in _______ course. You are required to obtain a clicker for this course (just like a required text). Use of your clicker is part of the course participation requirement.  Students may not use other students' clickers; doing so is a violation of academic integrity.

You must purchase and register your clicker before the _____ class meeting, and bring your clicker to class on that day prepared to participate. For our class, you will register your clicker via (www.einstruction.com).  The class key for registration is ________.
