VikingWeb
VikingWeb is Berry College’s web-based comprehensive web portal - a one-stop destination for many campus resources. The three components that are most commonly used by faculty include: the Learning Management System (LMS), Advising resources, and the Faculty Course Control portlet.
This page contains resources for VikingWeb in four areas: LMS, Advising, Faculty Course Control, and General Resources. The resources are in PDF format unless otherwise noted and you will have to have Adobe Reader installed to view the files.
Learning Management System (LMS)
The LMS is a set of collaborative tools that is used by both instructors and students. Essentially, the LMS consists of tools for planning, creating, distributing, and managing learning experiences. Features of the LMS include the ability to upload handouts, add web links, embed videos (and other files), manage forums and chat sessions, create groups/subsections, track attendance, administer online quizzes and tests, submit papers via file exchange, and display grades in gradebook.
Other Faculty Resources (Employee Tab)
VikingWeb contains powerful advising tools that allow advisers to guide students through their program of study. Features of the Advising Module include the ability to see each student’s advising worksheet, course history, and unofficial transcript.
The Faculty Course Control portlet consists of basic administration tools that faculty need. The Faculty Course Control portlet is can be found on Employee --> Faculty --> My Courses
General Resources
There are many other features of VikingWeb that may be useful to faculty and staff. Many of these functions can be completed within the Personal Information section (see the link next to the Welcome message). Other features are under Employee Resources in the Employee Tab.
